Dr. Esther Klein
My journey to becoming a clinical psychologist began with a deep curiosity about people and relationships, sparked by challenging family dynamics. I sought to understand how relationships work through extensive research, theoretical study, assessment, and practical experience with family dynamics, defense mechanisms, and emotional responses. I did this through formal education, training in Columbia University and the Derner School of Advanced Psychology at Adelphi University. I have also published in areas of father abandonment, sense of oneself, and relationships. I am born and raised in New York City and have done my training throughout NYC. I relocated to Boca Raton, Florida a few years ago where I see private clients in New York and Florida.
My career spans diverse settings, including inpatient hospitals, community mental health, foster care, and private practice. These experiences have deepened my empathy and understanding of people, fueling my passion for helping others navigate their relationships and traumas and empowering them to reshape their narratives for future generations.
Approach
When working with me, expect a COLLABORATIVE and CONVERSATIONAL approach. I will create a space for you to share what is on your mind, and I will help you put your feelings into words.
Together, we will explore your emotions, thought processes, relationships, and unconscious experiences. This can lead to a reduction in symptoms and open the door to new ways of relating and being in the world.
I use a PSYCHODYNAMIC APPROACH to help you gain better insight into PATTERNS WITHIN YOUR LIFE and how they may be unconsciously rooted in past experiences.
Working in this way is helpful in addressing struggles DEEPLY and creating meaningful change for the LONG TERM.
